In the Val d'Orcia, near Montalcino and Sant' Angelo in Colle in the province of Siena, we offer for sale a magnificent farmhouse that is accessed through a private gate, passing over a bridge that crosses the Raunate stream, from which the property takes its name.

The main building was originally an oil mill in the 18th century and was occupied by three families before being abandoned during the Second World War. Today, the property serves as a spacious and gracious home with three separate but interconnected living areas: the main house has three bedrooms (each with its own bathroom); adjacent and with a separate entrance is a further two-bedroom apartment; and the top floor a small church converted into a delightful one-bedroom suite.

The property comprises 12 hectares of land including a sauvignon blanc vineyard, an olive grove with about 70 trees, and a wood with centuries-old trees, a seasonal waterfall and a pond.

The swimming pool, located behind the house, is reached by a flight of steps flanked by a lush herb and flower garden; it is surrounded by a stone wall, above which is a large natural woodland area.

The property was completely renovated in the late 1990s with handmade floors, stone walls, chestnut doors, windows and shutters.

On the upper floor, two very large bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms, the third bedroom has its own private terrace overlooking the pool, and a bathroom with bath and shower. This floor also has a separate entrance, which opens into a cosy living room with fireplace.

Adjacent and connected to the main house, on the second floor we find a one-bedroom flat, complete with its own kitchen, a living room and a bathroom with bathtub and shower.
The flat also has a private entrance and its own patio.

The furnishings have been carefully selected: French and Italian antiques are combined with custom-made furniture, large queen and king-size beds (together with two single beds that can be converted into a king). Lighting was sourced from the French and Italian markets, as well as from Pienza's respected ironwork manufacturer, Biagiotti.

The mill has been converted into a changing room/pool room (above ground). Underneath, behind huge green doors, is a cellar.
